Welcome, I’m John Muchow — Founder of LevelUp Tools. My software development journey kicked off back in 1988 after earning my Master’s in Computer Science. Since then, I’ve had the great fortune to work with an incredible mix of companies and brands, including NBCUniversal, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, HBO, Sun Microsystems, Nokia, IBM, Warner Bros. and many others — and even Snoop Dogg (I wrote his first iPhone app!). I also have extensive experience with startups, as both as an employee and an investor.

Fintech experience includes Softcard, a joint mobile payments startup between AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. I served as Sr. iOS Architect / Principal Software Engineer responsible for hardware and software solutions to enable mobile payments on the iphone (prior to Apple embedding an NFC chip).

At mFoundry, another early fintech company, I served as Head of Developer Relations & Partner Integration. During my tenure, I was one of four engineers awarded the Dr. Dobb’s Jolt Award for Excellence in Programming for our work on Mojax — one of the first mobile payment platforms, which counted Citibank among its first customers.

I’ve authored a best-selling mobile development book, translated into five languages, and contributed extensively to the developer community through tutorials and articles featured in publications such as PC Magazine, O’Reilly, Borland, IBM Developer, and Dr. Dobb’s Journal. Since 2020, I’ve been developing indicators and screeners for the TradingView platform, with over 50 published tools spanning open-source and subscription-based solutions. My current focus is collaborating with professional traders to create custom tools tailored to their specific trading styles, strategies, and methodologies. Brian is the founder of alphatrends.net an on-line swing trading analysis and education community. Brian is the creator of the Anchored VWAP (AVWAP). Brian and I worked together on the popular TradingView Alpha 𝛼 indicator and other AVWAP related tools.

Andrew O’Connell

Andrew has been trading equities and options for over 10 years and is a top finisher in the US Investing Championship with with a 119% (YTD) in 2025, 254% return in 2024 and 103% in 2023. Andrew holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designations, and has professional experience working with some of the largest institutional asset managers in the world. Andrew and I collaborated to create a suite of technical indicators based on Andrew’s research and trading methodology.
